Officers

President: Amber King

Amber King serves as the Vice President of Advocacy and Membership for the Association of California Health Care Districts, where she provides leadership for ACHD’s Advocacy Team. Under Amber’s direction, ACHD’s Advocacy Team works with the State Legislature, legislative staff, committee staff, key coalitions, and internal and external stakeholders to analyze and recommend action on bills impacting ACHD members. Prior to joining ACHD in 2006, Amber provided support for Assemblymember Simón Salinas in his capitol office, working as a Legislative Aide. Amber received her degree from California State University, Sacramento where she majored in Government with a minor in Sociology. In addition to Amber’s duties at ACHD, she is a member of the Legislative Committee for the California Special Districts Association. Amber also served as a Co-Chair of the Charitable Giving Committee for the Capitol Network for several years before serving as Vice President.

Vice President: Madison Dwelley

Madison Dwelley currently serves as an associate lobbyist at Political Solutions, representing local government, nonprofit, and retail clients before the California Legislature, Governor’s Office, and various state agencies. Prior to joining Political Solutions, Madison served as a public policy intern at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. Madison is a graduate of San Diego State University with Bachelor’s degrees in both Political Science and Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Law in Society and also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from McGeorge School of Law.

Golf Tournament Chair: Margo Parks

Margo Parks joined the Boehringer-Ingelheim team in August 2021 as Senior Associate Director, State Government Affairs. Drawing on her experience advocating for both a trade association and a contract lobby firm, Margo navigates policy and politics to help achieve the organization’s goals in the legislatures across multiple states.

Prior to joining Boehringer-Ingelheim, Margo was a lobbyist at Western States Petroleum Association ( WSPA) where she worked on a range of policy issues impacting the oil and gas industry. Prior to working at WSPA, Margo worked at Political Solutions, has been employed by the California Cattlemen’s Association, and is an alumnus of the California Senate Fellows program.

Margo graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Scripps College, Claremont, Calif.

Golf Tournament Co-Chair: Sarah Bridge

Sarah joined ACHD in 2018. She currently serves as the Senior Legislative Advocate working with the Legislature, legislative staff, committee staff, and key coalitions to analyze policy issues and advocate on behalf of healthcare districts. Sarah most recently served in the role as Legislative Advocate. Prior to joining ACHD, Sarah provided advocacy support for the California Special Districts Association (CSDA).

Sarah volunteers at the Sacramento Crisis Nursery. She received her degree with honors and distinction from California State University, Chico where she majored in Political Science with a minors in International Relations and Ethics, Justice and Policy.

Michelle Reyes

Michelle joined Political Solutions in 2017 where she serves as an associate lobbyist. She has a distinguished background in media relations, public affairs, political campaigns, and public service. In her current capacity as an associate lobbyist she helps clients on an array of issues navigate through the complex world of politics and policy in the state Legislature. Prior to joining Political Solutions, Michelle served as a Communications Director in the California State Assembly, where she used strategic and instinctual media relations to help drive messaging on social media and to key constituencies and audiences at the local, state, and national level. Michelle has also served as Communications Director for the California Latino Legislative Caucus. During this time, she spearheaded statewide and nationally targeted media efforts to address issues that impact the Latino community.

McKinley Thompson-Morley

McKinley Thompson-Morely works in Senator Steve Glazer’s office as a legislative staffer. She majored in political science at SDSU. She graduated with honors and was named the Outstanding Political Science Graduate of 2018. While at SDSU she was a resident advisor, a student in the Weber Honors College and an intern in Governor Jerry Brown’s Office of Legislative Affairs.
